Only the team at the Experiential Learning Collaborative will have full access to your intake form. We’ll never share your personal info without your permission. If we identify a match, we’ll check with you first before sharing anything with a business.

No—this is not considered a formal job or employment. You won’t be on payroll, and there are no timecards or W-2s involved. Instead, this is a structured project-based, unpaid internship facilitated by ExLC. Once you complete your project and meet the agreed-upon deliverables, you’ll receive a $500 stipend as a recognition of your work. You will absolutely be able to list the experience on your resume, and we’ll provide support with how to describe it professionally. If you want to explore credit through your school, we’re happy to help with the paperwork.

We offer remote, project-based internships where you’ll work directly with a real small business to solve a specific challenge or opportunity. Each internship is matched to your skills and interests, and may include things like: Market research or competitive analysis Social media or content strategy Website audits or branding projects Grant research or outreach strategy Workflow/process improvement You’ll receive a clear project plan, weekly support from a professional mentor, and a $500 stipend upon successful completion. Internships typically run for 15 weeks with about 10 hours of work per week—flexible enough to fit around your class schedule.

It depends on your interests and the business’s needs! Past projects have included social media strategy, marketing research, customer experience audits, operational improvements, and more. We work with both sides to scope a project that’s clear, valuable, and educational.

That’s okay! You don’t need to have it all figured out. Many students use these internships to explore potential interests or apply skills they’re learning in class.

Many of our internships do include a small stipend paid upon completion of project deliverables. In addition to the stipend, you’ll also gain: Real-world consulting experience with a small business client A project plan to support the successful execution of your project One-on-one mentorship and feedback from a professional consultant Support translating your experience into strong resume bullets Exposure to entrepreneurship, strategy, and problem-solving in action A reference letter to help with future job or grad school applications This is a great opportunity to build your portfolio, grow your confidence, and make an impact—all with flexibility and support along the way. We can also work with your school to get internship credit, if your school allows it.

In many cases, yes. We help students request credit through their school by working with faculty and providing the required documentation. While credit is optional, we strongly encourage it where available.

The internships are 15 weeks long and require a commitment of about 10 hours/week. Some flexibility is possible, but we structure each internship to make sure the work is scoped to be achievable within that time.

The internships are designed to be remote and mostly asynchronous. On rare occasion, when the business and intern prefer, an in-person or hybrid experience may be possible.
